Christmas is behind us, the turkeys have been eaten, the presents unwrapped and the trees been looked at. Now is the time to get all the ornaments and lights and whatnot out of those trees and eventually get rid of the tree itself. Put the tree alongside the road so the garbage men will pick it up? That’s one option. I prefer another option.
Yep, every year there’s a big Christmas tree fire pretty close to my house (there’s a couple more throughout the city). Kids are running around all day collecting trees and throwing them on top of one another creating a huge pile.
And then when it’s getting dark people start to admire the big pile and looking at their watches. The thing is due to be lit at seven. By the time of 6:30 a large group of people has already gotten into position to watch this super dope fire. Around 6:40 some pyromaniacs are getting itchy and when the clock struck 6:45 they couldn’t stand it anymore. They lit the whole pile. Wow. That is truly amazing, the heat, the light, the sound, very unique and totally awesome.
I was trying to get a couple of shots while the fire was at its biggest, but that was a pain in the ass. Those shots didn’t turn out so well, so I started looking around and I took photos of the people looking at the fire running around with my camera and tripod. Here’s some shots that I took, tell me what you think of ‘em.
