Shot with iPhone

Shot with iPhone 4

Since yesterday I’ve entered Chase Jarvis’ footsteps. I’ve started taking photos on my iPhone (which arrived yesterday). I’ve only got my iPhone for about 24 hours now, but I’m already addicted to taking photos on it.

The first app I bought from my iPhone was The Best Camera. This is an app created by Chase Jarvis, named after a book he made with just iPhone photos. The full name is The Best Camera Is The One That’s With You. I think the name speaks for itself and I don’t have to explain it, but I will anyway…

It means that you don’t need a D3s with a 70-200 f2.8 to create a nice image. If you have the creativity and the effort, you can take very nice shots with a very cheap/low-quality camera. This has to do with what photographers always say: “The photographer takes the shot, not the camera, that’s just a tool”. And I think that saying is correct and I think the iPhone art proves it.

So… I got the app and I started firing away. So here’s a few shots I took today.

A seat in the train.

I took this shot when I was sitting in the train this morning. It’s very simple, but I kinda like it and the contrasted black&white finishes it.

This one is also shot from the train (if you couldn’t have guessed). I don’t have much to say about this photo, but I kinda like it too.

The blue sky

The blue sky

Here’s one that’s shot from the platform (yeah I’ve been traveling a lot today…), it’s just the sky with quite some contrast.

Do you like these shots? Please let me know. Also let me know what you think about iPhone photography.

Very interesting way of photographing you have sir. Your first one is the best one by the way, IMO.
Looking forward to your next creations.
Don’t jump in a lake by the way, it might hurt your phone.
