Yesterday, I was in Laren for some carphotography. We came across a beautiful Porsche Carrera GT on a pretty descent location with great light.
It’s not the first time I’ve been to Laren, Netherlands. I go there sometimes with some friends (photographers) and we’re just sitting there, having fun and taking photos whenever a nice car drives past.
This time, Christijan Albers happened to drive past in his Porsche Carrera GT. And not only did he drive past, he also parked it about 150 yards further. That was a pretty nice location, but at that moment the lighting wasn’t all that great. We were getting annoying reflections from the sun…
We were very fortunate, about an hour later or so, the car was still there and the lighting had changed and was absolutely great. I personally was even more fortunate, another photographer – his name is Arnoud – had a70-200 2.8 with him. And he wasn’t using it at that moment, because he was using his 12-24mm so I could borrow his 70-200!
First thing I noticed when I had put it on my D3000 was that the quality was just crazy! And it has once again been proved that lens quality is way more important than body quality (note that it is more important, so body quality matters as well). It was a pleasure to use this lens, the quality is just insane and so is the focusing speed and everything.
Alright, time for the photos, here are six photos I think are worth viewing.
